		Ron Winch Ron Winch grew up in northeast Iowa hunting, fishing, trappingand dreaming of making a living with a typewriter. After some success with both writing and photography, Ron gravitated toward photography. He spent 30 wonderful years behind the camera for 3M and upon retirement made the decision to give back, in the form of words and photos, to worthy conservation and environmental organizations. He has ongoing projects for The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota, Warner Nature Center, National Eagle Center, Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area, Izaak Walton League, Minnesota Audubon Society and others. Ron is a regular contributor to the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer, the Minnesota Weatherguide Calendar and has illustrated a book about The Raptor Center. He has photographed in over 20 countries and on five continents, from the Arctic to the Antarctic and from the western US to East Africa. His photos have been used in research, avian medicine, public relations, slide lectures and calendars. He has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to release a barred owl, red-tailed hawk and trumpeter swan back into the wild. Ron prefers to photograph alone and later share those prized moments in the field with others. Ron believes the goal of his photography is to, entertain, enlighten and educateto awaken the childlike wonder in the viewer and to inspire them to become better stewards of the environment. Ron lives with his wife, Toni Meglitsch, in rural Stillwater, Minnesota.
